Bio

Travis Lampe grew up in a small town in Kansas. After earning a degree in Graphic Design, he took a job in advertising as an art director in Chicago. While making ads for breakfast cereals and well known purveyors of inexpensive furniture over a period of several years, he secretly began “developing his illustration style,” which is not the same thing as “procrastinating.” Finally, when he felt the world was ready, he began his slow explosion onto the art and illustration scene, as it were. He currently lives and works in Chicago.

News

In general, I'm scrambling to have some pieces ready for SDCC this year in time to publish a small zine with Mark Murphy for the event. Wish me luck.

Also, should have an artist series watch out at Vannen.com very soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Wee Epic T-Shirts are now available in my shop.

MAY 2010

I'm not a comics artist per se, but I'll be guest doodling with some real live underground comics superstars on May 1st, for FREE COMICS DAY at Quimby's in Chicago. Come out and see us. It'll be weird, guaranteed.

APRIL 2010

The "We Heart Wood" Show at Munky King and the "100 Heads for Haiti" Show at SPUR Gallery both opened on April 8th. My pieces all sold, but you can check out the rest of the work at the links above.

MARCH 2010

My solo show, "Wee Epic Masterpiece Theatre" opened at Rotofugi on March 19th. The show is down now, but there are one or two pieces left, as well as some prints. You can check it out here.

As usual, you can find my Tear Drips at rotofugi.com and other fine stores.
